3:30 Newcastle – County Fair 12/1 – 0.5pt ew – Bet365 have already cut this to 15/2, with betfair still having a 12/1 go on this. Jim Goldie does well with horses he brings here and this might be no different. He has finished in the top 3 in his last two races in Scotland and he is in good form. He has only encountered all weather tracks twice when in France, and he finished 1st and 2nd so that gives hope here. Place chance
4:35 Newcastle – Orions Bow 9/1 (NB) – 0.5pt ew – this is a great price as far as I’m concerned: that may be proven to be wrong but he’s definitely worth a each way go! This C&D winner has slipped through the weights, now carrying the lowest he has had since May 2016. He has been competitive in his last two races off similar marks, and the last time he encountered the all weather was here last year, when 3rd in a class 2 off a mark of 104. Prior to that, he won over C&D two years ago from a mark of 91. He certainly is well handicapped now with a mark of 83 and should run in to a place.
6:30 Wolves – Finoah 7/2 (NAP) 1pt win – Had some good place efforfs of late and then went on to win a class 5 novice stakes race in good style 24 days ago. Prior to that win, he was 5th in a Redcar Listed race. The four horses infront of him that day have ratings now of 96,96,90 and 86 so that looks pretty good form coming in to this race. He was also infront of Vintage Brut, Who since won the Rockingham Stakes Listed race at York and gone on to be rated 106. He was 2nd on his Only other a.w start and he is drawn well to attack in stall one. Tom Dascombe usually gets his horses right for visiting this track, he boast a +43 p/l with his horses around here in the last 5 years.
