Weekend racing, includes Cheltenham!

2:30 Cheltenham – Kerrow 8/1 –  0.5pt ew – This is a very nice looking price. Alan Kings Gelding was cruising last time out behind the current 154 rated Yala Enki and went into a narrow lead at the last fence when falling. He was sweeping around runners when everyone else was off the bridle and he looked like he could have won quite cozily. The handicapper takes that into consideration here and bumps him up 5lb but that May make no difference given the way he could have cruised up. He receives weight from the majority of rivals and if that fall hasn’t affected him I’d be surprised if he isn’t too run into a place today.

6:45 Kempton – Tangled 4/1 – 1pt win –  Tangled is very well handicapped now with a mark of 87, having being rated 106 this time last year and running in some pretty hot group races. He was 6th last time over course and distance but again that was in much tougher company and still only went down by 4 lengths against the likes of Flaming Spear and Victory Bond both rated well in to the 100’s. That was a competitive listed race and this drop into class 3 company sees him have a huge chance.

7:45 Kempton – Pipes Of Peace 11/4 – 1pt win –  This horse has been the face of consistency of late, finishing in the top 4 in each of his last 6 runs. He beat the 99 rated ‘Buzz’ two runs back over C&D by no less than 4 lengths and was competitive again last time off this current 8lb higher mark. He has a future mark 11lb higher than this and he can go well here, although Caspar The Cub is a nice one too.
